Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
We’d provide forums, we’d all speak out, we’d all be heard, we’d all feel seen. We’d rise post-obstacle more defined, more grateful, we would be healed, be humbled, and be unstoppable.
So if you think your life is complete confusion, because your neighbor’s got it made, just remember that it’s a grand illusion, and deep inside we’re all the same.
It’s not the will to win…it’s the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.
I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
They think so small, they use small words. But not me, I’m smarter than that, I’ve worked it out. I’m stretching my mouth to let those big words come on out.
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure…than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
Let’s roll for justice, let’s roll for truth. Let’s not let our children grow up fearful in their youth.
